Little Britain Challenge Cup – 2010 16th – 19th September
The Little Britain Challenge Cup is a sailing regatta for the construction industry. Since the first event in 1988 the Little Britain Challenge Cup has
grown from 3 to 250 entries and to include more than 3000 competitors, making it the biggest regatta in the UK after Cowes Week.
LBCC continues to attract more and more new companies to join the regulars that have been taking part in the event since 1988. All available berthing in
Cowes Yacht Haven, Shepards Wharf Marina in West Cowes, and Venture Quays in East Cowes, is taken to accommodate the boats, and there's an action-packed
social programme to complement the racing.
Over 21 years, Little Britain has donated well over £1m to sailing charities helping disadvantaged or disabled people experience the world of
sailing. The 2009 regatta raised in excess of £100,000 and we’d like say a huge thank you to all our generous donors and sponsors. The money raised
in 2009 was distributed among eight charities, including the Ellen MacArthur Trust, the Jubilee Sailing Trust, the Cirdan Sailing Trust and the Skandia
team GBR Paralympic Sailing Team.
Great Escapes Yacht Charters is delighted to offer Great Escape our Jeanneau 52.2 for Charter for this regatta. She has 8 berths aboard and is
coded to race with 14. She offers clients a race proven comfortable boat for entry in the spinnaker or White sailed cruising division. In either division
her set up has been optimized so that a mix of novice and experienced crew can achieve good results.
For 2010 - In view of the current economic climate we are offering a special 4 day package including practice day at a special rate of £2400 incuding race
skipper and mate.
